About Dr. Pearce

Fellowship-trained urologic oncologist Shane Pearce, MD, provides high-quality urological care for all types of benign and malignant urological conditions. Dr. Pearce is known for offering compassionate and attentive care to the men and women at Spokane Urology in Spokane, Washington.

Dr. Pearce is a native of western Montana and is excited to be back in the Inland Northwest with his family.

Dr. Pearce graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Madison, Wisconsin. He also attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society for finishing in the top 10% of his class.

After medical school, Dr. Pearce completed a six-year urology residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, — the highest volume, minimally invasive robotic surgery program in Illinois. During his residency, Dr. Pearce logged over 350 robotic cases and trained with prestigious experts in bladder, prostate, testicular, and kidney cancer.

His residency ignited an interest in caring for patients with advanced urologic cancers, and Dr. Pearce completed a two-year Society of Urologic Oncology-accredited fellowship at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

At USC and LA County Medical Center in Los Angeles, Dr. Pearce continued comprehensive training and performed hundreds of complex open and robotic surgeries with internationally recognized leaders in the field at the premier urologic oncology program.

Always learning and furthering his skills, Dr. Pearce is involved in numerous research and teaching pursuits. He performs basic science research and population-based health outcomes research to better understand and treat patients with urological cancers.

Dr. Pearce has published over 40 peer-reviewed textbook chapters and journal articles. He serves as peer-reviewer for several major urologic journals and was awarded the Resident and Medical Student Teaching Award during his fellowship. Dr. Pearce also teaches as a clinical assistant professor at Washington State University College of Medicine in Spokane.

Away from the medical office, family time with his wife and son is vital to Dr. Pearce. He’s passionate about the outdoors and enjoys hiking, fly-fishing, snowboarding, and camping. He’s also an aspiring golfer.
